Estonian Embassy in London urges Estonian citizens living in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to share their contact details with the embassy. The embassy guarantees that your personal data will not be published, misused in any way or forwarded to third parties. The information will be used only in case of an emergency in your region or when you have notified the embassy that you would like to receive embassy news. The Estonian Embassy also reminds the Estonian citizens living in the UK of their obligation to register their correct residence data in the Estonian Population Register.

How can I do all this?
If you haven’t forwarded your contact information to the embassy yet, please send an e-mail to london@mfa.ee or a letter by post to 16 Hyde Park Gate SW7 5DG. Please add words MY EMBASSY to the subject line in the e-mail or to the envelope. The contact information should include your name, e-mail, postal address, phone number and if possible additional information about your family members. You can also add any other information you consider necessary. If you would like to receive embassy news to your e-mail in the future, don’t forget to add I WOULD LIKE TO GET EMBASSY NEWS to your letter. INFORMATION ABOUT ESTONIAN CULTURAL EVENTS IN THE UK
There are more than 50 different Estonian events taking place all over the UK in a year with the support of the Estonian Embassy. Recently for example the Estonian Television Girls’ Choir had a concert in the St Paul’s Church, Estonian Day took place in the Norwegian Church in Cardiff and the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves gave a public lecture at LSE.

NEW CONSULAR INFORMATION FROM THE EMBASSY
Either the opening times of the consular section of the embassy have changed, local institutions have sent important information to the embassy to be passed on to the citizens or elections are coming again – all this will be in your e-mail inbox in time and you don’t have to call the embassy or research the website.

THE USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION DURING CRISES SITUATIONS
The personal data you share with the embassy will only be used in crises situations (acts of terror, floods etc) in your region, to provide better consular assistance for those who might need it. All the embassies in London, including the Estonian representation, participate in the local Hermes cooperation project, which enables the embassies to get most up-to-date information about the crises situations anywhere in the country. The embassy would then and only then contact the people to see if they need any help.

REGISTRATION OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE
Residence registration means the entry of residence data in the Estonian Population Register and all the Estonian citizens have the obligation to make sure this data is correct and up-to-date. For example the address data of the residence has legal effect in respect to the Estonian Parliament, European Parliament and local government elections or referendums. Of course not, you can move wherever and whenever you wish, just keep your state informed.
