Newly-weds Tanel and Anna Rõuk decide to leave Estonia to look for luck and better life in Paris. They pack their belongings and go to the Baltic Railway Station on the dark early morning of December 1, 1924. In the previous hours, however, communist revolutionists have launched an attack in Tallinn that changes their plans drastically. Tondi Barracks, Toompea Castle, residence of the Head of State and the Central Post Office are attacked as well as the Baltic Railway Station, where Tanel and Anna are torn apart in the midst of the attack and Anna is taken hostage by the communist leader. Tanel manages to escape and must, in the following cliff-hanging events, rescue both his wife and in the end also the young Estonian Republic.
Director:
Asko Kase 1979) graduated from Tallinn University as visual arts director in 2002. His graduate film Coma participated successfully in several student and short film festivals. He has directed numerous commercials, a dozen TV shows and a few films. Asko is currently employed by Estonia’s biggest production company Ruut as film and commercials director, and continues his film studies at a master-level programme in Baltic Film and Media School.
