After the ceremony the ambassadors discussed future cooperation between the two countries. According to Ambassador Laidre there are no more geographically distant countries and tiny nations today in our globalising world, only narrow horizon.

„Mere curiosity is not enough for widening one’s horizons, but also the urge for political dialogue even between seemingly distant countries,“ said Laidre. „Diplomatic relations between Estonia and Fiji are a good foundation for getting to know each other better, sharing experiences and for creating a mutually beneficial relationship,“ he added.

According to Ambassador Tikoisuva the agreement is driven by the desire of the two countries to, among others, promote relations of friendship and co-operation between their respective peoples and countries in the political, economic and cultural fields.
