Estonia and Sweden Sign Agreement for Estonian Diplomat to be Posted to the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt signed an agreement on posting an Estonian diplomat to the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo on Monday, 10 December.
The agreement expires after 1 year and it will be renewable for another year if both parties agree to do so. The foreign ministers also signed a separate agreement regarding the distribution of the costs of shared premises and joint arrangements.
Estonian diplomat Kadri Jõgi started working in the premises of Swedish Embassy in Egypt already on 22 November of this year. Her assignment is to prepare for the opening of an Estonian embassy in Cairo. Jõgi is the first Estonian diplomat to be sent to the African continent.
