Priit Pärn Special: Life Without Gabriella Ferri
Priit Pärn, Olga Pärn
Estonia, 2008, 44'00

thursday 3 september, 6.30pm, Curzon Soho
Priit Parn is truly one of animation’s living treasures. His films are absolutely unique, even by the extended standards of Estonian animation, and reflect the work of an artist with continually exploring new ground, developing new ideas and looking for ways to express his individual, highly idiosyncratic view of the world. Gabriella Ferri never makes an appearance in this film although her presence is often felt even as we wonder how her purpose in life might be described. In the journey the Parn’s take us on we experience a dramatic story about love, locked doors, a faceless thief, a wounded stork, a lost laptop and the O’Key sisters who turn out to be virtual prostitutes. The pinpoint of light in the distance may just prove to be that of an approaching happy ending….

The programme will open with Priit and Olga’s first collaboration:
