Estonian TV Youth Choir at LLagollen Festival in Wales

The Estonian Television Youth Choir will take part of the Llagollen Festival in Wales this year from 7-12 July. The choir participates in several competitions during the festival on Thursday 9 July, the International Youth Day, on Friday 10 July in a Festival Within a Festival and the International Celtic & Folk Day. On Saturyday, 11 July the ETV Choir will perform at the International Family Day  of the festival.

Estonian TV Youth Choir is a well-known choir both in Estonia and abroad. The choir is experienced in all kinds of repertoire: choral classics, contemporary choral music, interesting folk music arrangements as well as pop music with impressive dance arrangements. Today there are 30 singers in Estonian TV Youth Choir at the age of 15 to 18. The choir has toured Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Malaysia, Singapore and Greece.

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is a six-day festival of music, dance, and song that takes place every year in the small Welsh town of Llangollen. It has been running since 1947, and since 1987 the presitigious Choir of the World competition has determined the best overall choir of the event. In 2005 Luciano Pavarotti added his name to the competition in recognition of his appreciation of the festival and its influence on his career.
