Verdi’s dark-hued revenge tragedy, featuring some of his most famous melodies including the Anvil Chorus, interweaves doomed romance, family feuds, mistaken identity and a gypsy’s fatal curse. Roberto Alagna shares the title role with Walter Fraccaro in this classic Royal Opera production, with Sondra Radvanovsky as Leonora and Dmitri Hvorostovsky as the Count di Luna.

Monika-Evelin joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2007 and made her Royal Opera debut as Flora La traviata, followed by Second Lady Die Zauberflöte and Mércèdes Carmen. She also understudied Olga Eugene Onegin and Dryad Ariadne auf Naxos. This season, she will sing Second Maid Elektra, Ines Il trovatore, Lady Artist Lulu and Flora La traviata and understudy Giulietta Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Mary Der fliegende Holländer and Maddalena Rigoletto. She will also sing Madame Popova The Bear during Meet the Young Artists Week.
