Estonian Ambassador to the UK Aino Lepik von Wirén made a 2-day visit to Northern Ireland on 11-12 June. Her Excellency was accompanied by Embassy’s Deputy Head Karmen Laus.

During her visit, the Ambassador and the Deputy Head met with Junior Ministers for the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister, Jonathan Bell and Jennifer McCann, and Minister for Employment and Learning Stephen Farry. They also met the Principal Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Francie Molloy.

The programme for the Ambassador’s visit included briefings at the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister and by the regional business development agency InvestNI. The Ambassador and Ms Laus also visited the Centre for Secure Information Technologies, which is the UK’s leading cyber security research hub.

"The visit confirmed that Estonia and Northern Ireland have mutual interests in many fields," said Ambassador Aino Lepik von Wirén after the visit. "I was also delighted to see that our business relations have good grounds for further development."
