Visa Types and Fees

Estonian visa applications can now be submitted online using the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM. The completed application also has to be printed out, signed and presented to the embassy. Only a signed application is valid for applying for a visa!

Please note that visa processing takes usually up to 5-10 working days, in some cases even up to 30 days.

Tourist visa

Documents needed for a visa are:

1. A completed visa application form
2. Flight reservation (or voucher)
3. Hotel booking (or voucher)
4. Travel insurance (with a coverage of at least 30 000 EUR (469 400 EEK) for the entire duration of the stay in Estonia)
5. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person)
6. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
7. Proof of sufficient funds during stay in Estonia (eg.documents confirming means of support, employment, income, support from family members, etc)
8. Visa fee (is only payable by cash or cheque/postal order)

Visa for visiting friends and family

1. A completed visa application form
2. Visa invitation registration number
3. Travel insurance (with a coverage of at least 30 000 EUR (469 400 EEK) for the entire duration of the stay in Estonia)
4. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person)
5. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
6. Proof of sufficient funds during stay in Estonia (eg.documents confirming means of support, employment, income, support from family members, etc)
7. Visa fee (is only payable by cash or cheque/postal order)

Visa for business or official visit

1. A completed visa application form
2. Visa invitation registration number
3. Travel insurance (with a coverage of at least 30 000 EUR (469 400 EEK) for the entire duration of the stay in Estonia)
4. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person)
5. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
6. Proof of sufficient funds during stay in Estonia (eg.documents confirming means of support, employment, income, support from family members, etc)

Transit visa

1. A completed visa application form
2. Travel tickets for entering and leaving Estonia
3. Travel insurance (with a coverage of at least 30 000 EUR (469 400 EEK) for the entire duration of the stay in Estonia)
4. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person)
5. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
6. Proof of sufficient funds during stay in Estonia (eg.documents confirming means of support, employment, income, support from family members, etc)
7. Entry permit for the final country of destination
8. Visa fee (is only payable by cash or cheque/postal order)

Family member of an European Union Citizen

1. visa application form
2. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
3. Passport of an European Union Citizen
4. A document proving relationship with an European Union Citizen (marriage certificate, birth certificate)
5. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person)

Family member of an Estonian Citizen

1. visa application form
2. A valid travel document - it must contain at least two blank pages for visas and be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the validity of the visa
3. Passport of an European Union Citizen
4. A document proving relationship with an European Union Citizen (marriage certificate, birth certificate)
5. A coloured photograph (sized 35 x 45 mm; It should be possible to ascertain the identity of the person) 
6. Travel insurance (with a coverage of at least 30 000 EUR (469 400 EEK) for the entire duration of the stay in Estonia)
